For some reason there are many Americans who idolize the vehicle at the forefront of an American TV show called
The Dukes of Hazzard. In order to pay homage to one of the coolest cars in American media, people have set out to modify any kind of people mover accessible. The photos below aim to categorize just a few of those tributes.
If you find that I'm missing some please feel free to add them in the comments below!
1.
New General Lee -
This is a new car that wants to be like the General Lee. This car is way too nice to be a General Lee.
2.
Jacked Up General Lee -
Here's a jacked up General Lee. This General needs to cross rivers and such as seen in the photo.
3.
Family Lee -
This General Lee shows it's versatility by adding a spacious third row of seats facing backward and letting the American family know it's ready to roll.

4.
Junk in the Trunk Lee -
This Lee has a lot to be proud of. With back tires of diameter = 2 times the front, this bad boy can make even the fullest and plumpest of asses turn green with envy.
5.
Soccer Lee -
I was going to think of something clever or witty here but I think the picture speaks for itself.
6.
USAir Lee -
I don't know who wouldn't pay at least $100 bucks to ride in this Lee. I think we'd be out of Iraq already if we dropped bombs over Baghdad in this baby.

7.
Poor Man's Lee -
If the only time you leave the house is to go to 7-11 to get rolling papers then this is the Lee for you. Low maintenance and extreme maneuverability.
8.
Accidental Lee -
If someone happened to have a car the right shade of orange they might come out of the grocery store to find a large 01 painted on the side.

No I'm not talking about the shitty song by Staind or whoever. I'm talking about the fact that it's been a month since I last blogged on here. I've been extremely busy switching up jobs and just straight up doing work. I recently left Iditarod Systems to join Accenture and so it's been three weeks now since I started there. It's been a pretty crazy adventure spanning east coast and west coast but I think it's starting to settle down a little. I was just in Silicon Valley last week at a Sun Immersion Week event. I actually made a Sun blog by being at the event.
Check it out here. It was a great event and helped me meet a lot of important Sun and Accenture people who are in the Identity space. Now it's back to the DuPont project out of Delaware. Which means lots of train riding. Has anyone noticed that you really get nothing out of being the top level frequent rider on Amtrak? Oh well it's way better than flying. Well that's all I feel like writing at the moment because I'm not feeling too hot. Looks like the flu got to me before I could prevent it. Till next time later!

Well some of you might be wondering where I've been this week. Unfortunately on Monday night most of my electronics goodness was stolen out of my rental car in Miami. You would think that when you walk into a Chili's for dinner and come out your laptop and ipod and etc. would be waiting for you in your car but not here. Sadly enough some poor soul accidentally broke into the car and made off with my backpack. Life lessons I guess but it has meant I have been Internetless all week. SUCKS!

Well I just got an email about it and sure enough there they are sitting there ready to be pre-ordered.

I just noticed in the digg sourcecode new javascript for drag'n'drop functionality. As far as I can remember I don't experience any drag'n'drop goodness on the digg site. What is in store or what is already on the site that we don't know about using this little nugget of javascript??

Soon to be my new baby!! I'm switching to Verizon this week and keeping my existing number. It's taken me a while to decide to make the switch but I finally am. After 6 years of Sprint I'm saying goodbye!

After cleaning up hundreds of lines of Shout code, fixing bugs, adding new bugs to the site and listening to hours of mp3s I'm heading to get some rest so I can actually go to work in the morning. These days I spend most of my time in Miami for consulting work and then travel back to Washington DC on the weekends. It's gorgeous weather in Miami but I can't wait to get back to DC. I really enjoy Fall (Autumn for some of you) and the weather change to be honest.
I'm really trying to write more in the blog to really get a feel for the user experience on Shout Central. I've noticed lots of little quirks with the system and I'm constantly working on new ways to improve it or make it more fun to use. If you have any suggestions or ideas please PLEASE send them to me!
Until next posting PEACE OUT!

I thought this comic was pretty funny so I decided to post it.

Personally I think that October really brings out the weirdos. I'm not quite sure if it's the colder weather or if it's the excitement of getting free candy on Halloween but I always seem to run into the weirdest people. Today I was shopping in the local mall and this dude was walking through the mall posing as a casual shopper selling none other than the complete guide to Sanskrit. Now call me crazy but I'm not quite sure why anyone would want to buy this other than maybe a historic dead language researcher, which certainly does not include this guy right here.
Now that I have that little ditty out of my system I can move on to the more important stuff. If you've been using the site lately you will notice the little changes that are cropping up. I've been busy traveling the country for work and now am slowly focusing on the site more and more so the changes should start coming in larger doses and more quickly. If you notice any bugs or issues or just hate the way things are changing feel free to shoot me an email (
brian@shoutcentral.com) and I will gladly check into it. I'm definitely not above taking advice or suggestions and turning them into great additions or modifications to the site. After all you all are the ones using and creating this site.
Thanks a lot for your participation and keep on rockin!

This weekend I have been hanging out in South Beach Miami taking it easy so I haven't been around much to work on the site. I've been doing a lot of brainstorming even through all the shock I've suffered after watching Rolls Royce after Rolls Royce roll down the street outside my hotel. God I love that car! Tonight we will be at Mynt lounge or Bed so if you are in the area and want to hit us up we'll be there. Just look for the only guy in South Beach wearing an undershirt. Until later peace out!

The Digg Badge is a neat little widget you can add to your blog or personal web page that shows a blurb about your Digg profile. It shows a little bit about your history on the site. A couple things that are disappointing are that it doesn't show my true avatar in the top right corner and secondly I'm not really sure what the Digg box means on the left for me. Maybe it's stories dugg...if it is, it sure isn't up to date.

I just saw this video on Digg and I have to say I'm not really sure if this is a fake video or not but it definitely is entertaining. Just when you thought you've watched enough of some Canadian hillbillies harassing some yuppie in a Bimmer you get some action. If I had a gun and some pricks were harassing me I'd be right there with it. Plus he got a great new camera out of the deal!
View the Movie!

I just found this clip of Britney Spears on
TMZ.com and I must say it's horrible. Not that I ever really liked her but this makes her look like the nastiest girl in the world. I mean she's chewing with her mouth open and burping and scratchin' stuff. If I wanted to date a redneck dude maybe I'd be interested. Watch the video below and enjoy.

I've been playing around with the MeeboMe widget and while I like the idea behind it I just don't see it being all that useful. It would be cooler if you could be logged into aim or msn or yahoo! and have it connect to me. I don't want to join yet another im network. I already have GTalk, Yahoo!, MSN and AIM. I am hoping they extend the feature in the future and will continue to watch it.

Hey everyone!
You may have noticed that the site looks a lot different. Well that's because we launched Shout Central version 2 in private beta today! Since you joined before today you are automatically enrolled in this private preview of the new site. You will be able to login with your current login and password and access all the new features automatically. PLUS! Your existing Shout Central photos and profiles will be waiting for you when you login.
If you're wondering what really could be different about the new site you'll be in for a surprise because we've been working hard for the last two months to bring lots of cool new features like a Visitors Map which shows you where your buddies are visiting from via Google Maps. Now we also allow you to comment on friend's photos, videos and blog entries. Something that has been requested for a while. And most importantly we have allowed you customize your profiles even further with custom CSS and made it much easier to make your profile page look amazing!
We would like to thank you for supporting the Shout Central community and for helping us become a fun rewarding online experience. In the upcoming weeks as we finish up the second half of our upgrade to Shout Central we will be making lots of updates and bugfixes due to problems you may find so please be patient and we promise to bring you a great site that is fun and easy to use.
Keep on shoutin!

As we near completion of the latest version of Shout I'd like to take a moment to step back and reflect on what exactly got us here. When the idea for Shout took shape in mid-March I never thought that we would be here in July about to release version 2 which looks like the older, better looking sibling of the original Shout. Shout currently has around 850 users from all corners of the world and has been reviewed by several blogs including *Mashable and WebNeeks. Overall the future is looking bright for us and I think that current users as well as hopefully many new users are going to enjoy the new features and upgraded experience that the site will bring them. I'd like to continue to thank you for your support and understanding as this small family grows into the large family I hope it will be.
Thanks,
Brian
